Lemonade out of lemons. And some holiday tree trimming.

Last week a big wind storm blew in. And it blew. And then it sucked.

[heh heh heh]

Anyway, it knocked over HUGE trees in our neighborhood. Like this one.

Here's another view.

While crews cleaned up debris, we scouted the neighborhood for pine trees that were knocked over in the storm. And look at that, they kind of resemble Christmas trees! So tell me what thrifty person would let an opportunity like this go to waste? Nobody, I tell you. Nobody.

So look what made it's way into our living room. Sure, it's not the prettiest tree I've ever seen. But I like to think of it as recycling in a bad economy.

I tried several settings on the camera. This thing just doesn't photograph well.

A few strings of lights and some sparkly ornaments to patch up the holes and it's a whole new tree!

It looks MUCH better with the lights on and a dark room.

Then I continued to decorate the house.

Uh oh. Look what I found amongst the Christmas decorations! It's the mistletoe!

Ok, alright, twist my arm, I'll kiss you!

Happy tree trimming!

Hahahahaha!!! The fact that you used a recycled Christmas tree made me honestly laugh out loud. Thank you for that. And it does make a beautiful tree, with all of the lights on it. Good job :)

And wow, what a storm, huh? I couldn't believe all of the damage it left behind.

I am not going to show this to Jon. He always says "who says that we have to use a blue spruce or evergreen for a tree? why not just buy a tree we're going to plant in our yard (maple) and decorate that?". At least your find resembles a Christmas tree. And have you seen the prices for real trees? they are so expensive! good thrifting. ha ha.
